The Aquarius Casino Resort (formerly Flamingo Hilton Laughlin and Flamingo Laughlin) is a hotel and casino located on the banks of the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Golden Entertainment and is the largest hotel in Laughlin.

Aquarius Casino Resort is the largest 24-hour gaming resort in Laughlin, providing 1,906 rooms and suites and a 57,000-square-foot casino with more than 1,200 state-of-the-art slot machines, the widest variety of favorite table games in town, and a non-smoking race and sports book. The Aquarius has two 18-floor towers with 1,907 rooms and suites that overlook the Colorado River. The casino, with an area of 57,070 square feet (5,302 m²), has 1,240 slot machines, 33 table games, and a race and sports book.^[1]^[2] The property includes a business center, fitness center, pool and tennis courts. The Aquarius also has a tour boat, the Celebration, which takes visitors on a tour of the Colorado River area of Laughlin.

Flamingo Hilton Laughlin (1990–2000)[edit]

On August 1, 1990, the property opened as the Flamingo Hilton Laughlin.

Flamingo Laughlin (2000–2006)[edit]

In October 2000, the hotel's name was changed to the Flamingo Laughlin.

On November 29, 2005, Harrah's Entertainment announced plans to sell the resort to American Casino & Entertainment Properties (ACEP). The $170-million sale closed on May 19, 2006. ACEP was allowed to continue using the Flamingo name for up to six months after the sale.

Aquarius Casino Resort (2006–present)[edit]

The Flamingo Laughlin became the Aquarius Casino Resort on November 24, 2006.

In 2008, ACEP completed $54 million in renovations at the Aquarius.^[3]

In October 2017, Golden Entertainment purchased ACEP, adding the Aquarius and three other casinos to its portfolio.^[4]

Entertainment[edit]

The Aquarius features entertainment appearing regularly in Splash Cabaret for free, and occasional stage shows and musical reviews in the Aquarius Pavilion.^[5]

LAUGHLIN (KTNV) — Aquarius and Edgewater casino-resorts in Laughlin will reopen at 8 a.m. on June 4.

To welcome visitors back, representatives for the Aquarius and Edgewater properties said they are offering up to a 45 percent discount on all room reservations.

'Laughlin has long been a popular destination for summer getaways to take in watersports on the Colorado River and the excitement of the casinos,' said Sean Hammond, vice president and general manager of Aquarius and Edgewater. 'We look forward to reopening in time for people to enjoy their trips to Laughlin, while also providing a safe, healthy atmosphere.'

The Aquarius and Edgewater properties have said the two have implemented broad safety measures under the company's new 'Golden Commitment' standards, as part of Golde Entertainment.

These measures include sanitation protocols at every touchpoint, from the casinos, restaurants, and bars to the elevators and rooms.

Per guidelines set by the state of Nevada, Aquarius and Edgewater said they will also limit property occupancies to 50 percent.

All health and safety measures are subject to change based on any updates from the State of Nevada.

While some areas of the resorts will be closed during an initial reopening phase, most of the restaurants and the main casino floors will reopen.

Situated on the banks of the Colorado River, Aquarius Casino Resort is the largest hotel in Laughlin, Nevada. Edgewater Casino Resort's newest restaurant Wild Style Burgers & Pizza is located on the main casino level just north of the Edge Lounge. Burger ingredients include freshly ground beef, plus a top-it-yourself condiment bar that offers lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, Pico de Gallo and jalapeño slices. Pizzas are 20-inches in diameter and feature an imported cheese blend plus a variety of additional toppings.
